Moonrise in Toronto

We often get to capture sunrise and sunsets on our cameras, but how frequent do we get to see the moonrise?

Canada- Eh?

I've just gotten back from a trip to Canada. Haven't had enough sleep all week but it was all worthwhile. Travel itenarary: Toronto - Ottawa - Montreal - Quebec - Niagara Falls - Toronto
Pictures will say it all?

So much for Malaysia's Petronas Twin Towers being the tallest in the world! CN tower (Toronto) now ranks number 1 - standing tall at around 550 metres.

Toronto Old City Hall

Ottawa - Capital of Canada

.

Niagara Falls - The boat tour is called the "maid of the mist". It is truly a spectacular view of the falls from down below. I wonder why it's not one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.

As I stand in awe of God's creation....

Michella and Me

Alright, it's a wrap for vacations - only for now....many more on the way....

Back to the wilderness...

The past weekend was yet another fruitful trip with the girls. Found a new travelling mate - Rommi. So Michella, Rommi and myself spent a day and the half in the White Mountains area which is just about an hour and the half north for Manchester, NH. We had a good time. Here are some shots!

A tribute

You were far away.
You were miles away.
You were present
You were holding on.
Now, you're near.
Nearer to home.
Hold on no more.
Life eternal, it's yours.
Willingly,
You gave. You sweat.
You toiled. You loved.
You held the fort,
so strong, so long.
You needed the rest.
The rest, you badly deserve.
You slept. Yes, it's time to rest.
"it's time to wake up!"
You hear us not.
You continued in slumber.
You fought to arise,
but you succeed not.
I knew you fought,
though you told me naught.
Rest no more,
I need you to wake up.
one last time.
I promise.
I promise to let you rest after.
You hear me naught.
But I hear you.
I hear you.
Safe and happy.
Reunited with loved ones,
watching over all, left behind,
Reminding us with your voice,
"Don't worry",
for you've reached home.
I plead no more.
I want you to rest now.
Wake up no more,
for you've found home.
I just wanted you to know,
I would have loved to see you again,
that very last time.
I would miss you.

Guess the body is not used to the humidity! If some of you were wondering, yes, I still have classes going on but we decided to take the weekend off. So suffering now (Sunday night) trying to finish up some studying for tomorrow. It's all worthwhile though. signing off! cheers

May-cation!

It's been almost 10 days since I left New Orleans (a place I've learnt to call home). An end of an exciting chapter and the start of yet another. I'm back in New Hampshire, back to good old university life. After I left New orleans on May 13th, I was travelling with Michella for about 10 days before we got back to uni.

Last few days of New orleans (before vacation)

I love vacations. Especially when it means travelling to a new place. It constantly revives or changes your perspectives on the things you see. This trip has been fun and certainly interesting.

Our vacation route: Miami (Florida) -- Salvador (Bahia, Brazil) -- Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) -- New York -- New Hampshire

Highlights:

  • Me and michella met up in Miami on 13th May. Her luggage did not arrive and was missing. So no clothes or belongings for that poor gal and also very nasty customer service by US Airways' staff. That was a great way to start the trip. =) After much phone calls and emails, Michella received her luggage! at the EnD of our trip. We just picked up her luggage from the Manchester Airport in New Hampshire yesterday.
  • My camera got snatched in Rio. Yes yes...I was warned but shit happens. Tried to fight back but got hit so left it. Came home with a sore on the head after being hit and fell on floor. So no camera for rio, bought an instant camera but pictures turned out lousy. (though sight is truly breathtaking). Michella had her camera but her charger was in her luggage that was mishandled. And we couldnt find a single place (we tried about 20 camera shops) that sells Canon camera charges. Tough luck!
  • New York was a blast. Ran errands and walked many many blocks. Went to renew malaysian passport but was 2 dollars short for passport renewal (they only wanted cash!) but a gentleman was kind enough to give it to me! Watched broadway shows 2 days in a row. Loved it..
  • Rented a car and drove from New York to New Hampshire. Normally only takes about 4 to 5 hours, but we got lost for about 2 hours trying to get out of New York. But it was fun driving on the other side of the road. My left hands still automatically searches for the gearbox! ( gearbox is on the right!)
