Innocence....

I saw the innocence in their eyes, but they weren't aware that I was looking. With that glimpse, a gush of thoughts flowed through. I was there before...with that very same innocence, but I must have been ignorant about my innocence. Now, I feel my ignorance then. I really thought I was growned up then. Just like them. The years will pass, and they will come to realise... it is a phase we all go through, and the cycle continues, for eternity.

Moving on

Returning back to Malaysia this trip has meant getting used to the idea of "moving on". Things aren't just the same anymore. I do not expect them to be, but it will take time for me to adapt. Friends have all moved on - those who were studying are now working, those single are either now attached or married, some married, are unfortunately, now seperated. Family have moved on - grandma is no longer around, Ruhan is in the picture, dear pa and ma are going through yet another transition. The cycle of life never cease to amaze me. It's all becoming too real. I used to say I wish I could turn back time, to go back to school, to be a child again. Maybe I should just embrace the idea of being 24, of being a young adult, and be thankful that i don't have too much responsibilities as yet. It's just the matter of time though. I feel so grown up already. Time to play in the rain , never wanting to forget how it feels to be a kid again. I don't want to grow up.....

More photos of the cutie pie

I still can't believe i have yet to see Ruhan!! I told him not to grow up so quick but he seems to be growing at a very fast pace. I hope the pictures doesn't do him any justice and that he's still tiny!!!! Can't wait for Yyn, Gordon and Ruhan to come back and spend some family time together. Webcams/skype/msn/emails - it just isn't the same!

And so they say.....

They claim to have "better service for better future". They claim they strive to be courteous and give you respect as a consumer. I saw none. If customer service meant talking loudly in a atrocious tone to your consumer, then maybe they had it all. I had an encounter at the Post office today - proudly presenting, POS MALAYSIA. Sometimes I wished it was privatized. Sometimes, I wish many things back home is privatized because that would meant alot more. Sometimes, most of the time, I wish I wasn't back home because I dread seeing this decay in my own nation. While we progress in many other material means; what use is there? It's almost time to leave. But wait, didn't I just get back?

Road trip

Driving around the states has been a joyful experience and while the road trip is already drawing to an end, the vacation has not. (but almost there too). We (Rommi, Michella and I) drove around 2500 miles in 9 days. That's almost 4000 km. We saw a great cross section of deserts, mountains, lakes and oceans. Route 101 was the highlight as it led us from Seattle all the way down to San Francisco by the coast and was around 18 hours long. I haven't loaded those pictures yet but here are some of the places that we went prior to Seattle.

Graduation Blues Post I

I'm definitely suffering from graduation blues - with graduation being just 9 days away, and a week to the last day of classes (for a LONG while) and just 5 days away until I meet up with my parents. I still have so much assignment to finish up but thought I should post something on the blog (to compensate for my lack of email writing to many loved ones). While I struggle to stay sane with the hazzle that I'll have to pack up and leave campus in a weeks time, with the emotional distress of parting away from school friends, the emotional delight of finally graduating, the eagerness to go home for my mamak and close friends/family, the sense of freedom, the many upcoming vacation trips within the next month and finally, the sad feeling of leaving US- I seriously wonder how I can concentrate on my assignments. Enough said. I'll post some pictures of uni!

Hospitality Center - This is where I have all my classes!

Anyway, I will apologize for my lack of correspondence. It's going to be pretty crazy from now on till I return home. Itenary for the next month: Manchester - Northeastern states with parents & michella (places TBD) - Manchester - Boston - Chicago (Illinois) - San Francisco (California) - Reno (Nevada) - Salt Lake City (Utah) - Boise (Idaho) - Seattle (Washington) - San Diego (California) - Maui (Hawaii) - Kuala Lumpur - Home sweet home - teh tarik & nasi lemak ;)

I wish you well

I saw that same fear in her eyes.
My heart went out to her.
The pain so distinct,
Nobody could understand.
She was there.
Was she really?
Her thoughts, all along,
was not.
Who would've thought?
It's too late.
She is gone.
Not forever, but she is gone.
I said I understood.
But now I think again,
I certainly don't.
I surrender, I do not.
I don't think I ever will.
But I wish her well.
Our paths may never cross,
I may never see you again,
I may never get to wish you well,
as much as I had hoped to.
I am glad I listened.
I am thankful, for I saw you,
before you were gone.
Your absence is a lesson to me,
though you may never know.
All the best.

Just around the corner?

Having trouble typing this entry. Type, delete; type, delete; repeatedly; what is wrong? I heard an inner voice. The heart is not at rest, although it appears so; the mind -spinning swiftly, no means of catching up; the body - never so restless. The future, distant as it sounds, is near. Still far away? Wishful thinking. Like the waves on the beach shore, it approaches. It's coming! It's coming ! High and mighty, they begin to march in.. The winds of New Hampshire brought me back to my room. I no longer see those waves, but I can picture them in the near distant. The future is just around the corner.

Moonrise in Toronto

We often get to capture sunrise and sunsets on our cameras, but how frequent do we get to see the moonrise?

Canada- Eh?

I've just gotten back from a trip to Canada. Haven't had enough sleep all week but it was all worthwhile. Travel itenarary: Toronto - Ottawa - Montreal - Quebec - Niagara Falls - Toronto
Pictures will say it all?

So much for Malaysia's Petronas Twin Towers being the tallest in the world! CN tower (Toronto) now ranks number 1 - standing tall at around 550 metres.

Toronto Old City Hall

Ottawa - Capital of Canada

.

Niagara Falls - The boat tour is called the "maid of the mist". It is truly a spectacular view of the falls from down below. I wonder why it's not one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.

As I stand in awe of God's creation....

Alright, it's a wrap for vacations - only for now....many more on the way....

Back to the wilderness...

The past weekend was yet another fruitful trip with the girls. Found a new travelling mate - Rommi. So Michella, Rommi and myself spent a day and the half in the White Mountains area which is just about an hour and the half north for Manchester, NH. We had a good time. Here are some shots!
